My Reflection

Educational technology subject is very important to us teachers. Through educational technology, we are aware of the new gadgets that are useful in the school and how to use it. We can have a greater understanding of the technology of its importance to our life. Learning educational technology is a must to us teachers so that we can share to our students or guide our students how to use them properly. In us teachers we will always be updated. The learning’s we got from the educational technology 2 can later be applied in our fields to get the attention of the students and we can give them a new way of learning.

To me as a student and a future educator it is a privilege to take this subject. I was able to learned lots of things mostly in the techniques. In my journey as a student I never knew to use shortcut keys, because of educational technology I was able to discover how to use it. I mastered making a PowerPoint presentation, excel in computing grades, publisher in making cards and etc. Before I always thought that MS publisher has no use, because of the educational technology I was able to discover that MS publisher is used in making cards, certificates, greeting cards and etc. It was amazing to know its use. I’m so thankful to educational technology because it gives me lots of ideas to use in the field of teaching. This subject is stressful most of the time but overall it was fun and very educational which I’m going to miss.

Exercise No. 11: Educational Show

This was the most fun exercise in Educational technology 2. Because we are tasked to create our own educational show. We act as the actor/actress, director and the camera man. It was stressful at the same time because we need to edit the videos manually.

I've learned so much in this educational show on how to create your own movie. By using movie maker, you can customize your movie according to your needs. You can able to design and add effects on it. This is very important especially in the field of teaching because you can make your own educational show to get the attention of the students. This is a great way to let students experience a new way of learning. So far this is my favorite exercise in Educational Technology 2. :)

Exercise No. 10: MS Publisher

In this exercise we are tasked to make our own award certificate, business card and greetings card. In this exercise, it involves creativity because your going to design it.

I learned to customize and make greetings card, award certificate and business card. I learned also how to create designs according to what I like. This learning is very important to me because I can apply this in my field such as making certificates to award my students, making my own greetings card to give to my love ones and make my own business card to expand my business. In MS publisher, there are lots of choices according to your needs.

Exercise No. 9: MS Excel

This exercise is about the application and on how to use the MS excel. We were tasked to compute and make grades in the MS excel by using formulas. It was hard and fun at the same time.

 In this exercise, I've learned many formulas to compute grades easily. I learned also how to manipulate the spreadsheet very well. This learning is very important to me as a future educator because I can use this in my field especially in computing grades. I got a score of 18/20, not bad at all. :)

Exercise No. 8: MS Powerpoint

MS PowerPoint is very useful in a classroom setting. For it can be used in presenting discussion to the class. In this exercise we were tasked to make a story board in order for us to plan what information's are going to be shown. Then, the actual making of the presentation follows.

Through this exercise, I was able to learn how to apply effects on the presentation very well and to use some animations and etc. I learned also to use some shortcut keys in making the presentation. I got a perfect score in this exercise and it was great.

Exercise No. 7: MS Word

In this exercise we were tasked to bring or make our own lesson plan. The chosen lesson plan will be typed at the Microsoft Word Document. Proper margin, font style and font size will be observed. Microsoft word is very common to the students and teachers for it can be easily use.

As a future educator, it is important for me to learn how to use Microsoft word for it can be use in many ways and to promote paperless classroom. Through this exercise, I was able to master the different shortcut keys in using the Microsoft word which makes my works easier and faster.

Exercise No. 6: OHP

This exercise is the application of techniques in making a presentation using an OHP. Using pentel pen, the drawings and information's will be written in the transparency films. The transparency film will be placed in the OHP to project the written presentation.

I have learned that being a teacher you should know how to prepare presentation using OHP. Because there would be some cases that the only available equipment in the school would be OHP.

Exercise No. 5: Non-objective shapes

This exercise is interesting because you're just going to use a one half of white cartolina with a black pentel pen and your going to close your eyes and draw for 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, unexpected shapes will be formed and the spaces will be colored differently using crayons.

I appreciated and learned that it is nice to form non-objective shapes because you're not aware of what has been made. The result would be very nice like an abstract. But I only got 17/20 due to some uncolored parts.

Exercise No. 4: Nine Techniques

This exercise is about the application of the nine techniques of shading namely horizontal, vertical, diagonal, cross, zigzag, spirals, circle, dots and smudge. Each techniques has its own unique pattern of application.

I have learned to master the nine techniques of shading and it was proven because I got a score of 20/20 . I can use this new learning in my projects and drawings by applying the nine techniques to add some life.



Exercise No. 3: The Human Face

This exercise is about the proper way of how to make a human face. There are easy patterns that will be followed in making the human face.

I learned to draw a human face properly in a simple and easy way. I can share this learning to my students in the future years. I got a score of 18/20 which is enough for me.

Exercise No. 2: Bottle and Plants with Shades

This exercise is about applying proper shading in a right angle. Wherein there is a table of shades that will guide you what is the right shading to be applied in the drawn Bottle and Plants.

Score

I have improved my shading skills and I learned to control the consistency of proper shading that it should be in one direction. It was an interesting exercise but I was not able to finish it because it was already time. As a result, there were some unnecessary markings, some of the shades in the table are the same and I got 17/20.
